Races

Humans: Ape Progenitors (Terestial)
Adaptable Race: When rolling ability scores, Humans may swap their scores freely between the four abilities at creation.
+1 to all Abilities.

Humans are an adaptable races and were the majority population of Spira and settled nearly anywhere in the world. They can be found on nearly every moon. Their cultures are diverse and fluid, leading more tradition oriented species like Dwarves and Elves to view them as flighty and chaotic.

Average height and weight for an adult male is 5'10, and 160lbs, and for adult females 5'4 and 120lbs, but have a very wide range of variation.

Elves:Ape Progenitors (Aboreal)
Agile Race: When rolling ability scores, Elves may roll their Agility score twice and take the higher roll.
+2 Agility, +2 Insight.

Elves are naturally graceful and were reknowned throughout Spira for their patience, wisdom and beauty. While Humans and Elves evolved from the same ancestor at some point, the ancestor species of the Elves maintained their aboreal nature, passing it down to their descendants. As such, Elves tended to be less nomadic than humans and tended only to settle forested lands. This lack of dynamicism causd Elves to develop more traditional, hetrogenous societies and cultures and are more recusive by nature.

Elves features are less diverse than humans, but simmilar, and with more "statuesque" and angular features. They tend to have backswept, pointy ears with striaght tops. Elves are of simmilar height as Humans, with the average height for adult males and females being 5 '10 and 5'4 respectively, but tend to be born tall or short, with few falling in the mid height ranges, and shorter heights being culturally prefered. Their weights tend to be signifigantly less than Humans, and are thinner in build with smaller, more wiry muscles. Their lesser weight and preference for shortness likely derive from a simmilar root causes: lack of availiabilty of food due to smaller, less diverse habitats and a preference for hiding over fighting. Short elves tend to be given preferential positions in society, such as Animages, skilled professionals and leadership roles while taller Elves tend to find themselves guided into careers as soldiers and laborers.

Ogres: Ursidae Progenitors (Bear)
Strong Race: When rolling ability scores, Ogres may roll their Strength score twice and take the higher roll.
+2 Strength, +2 Agility.

Ogres are the youngest of the races, and by far the largest and most ferocious. On Spira, before The Fall, they tended to settle in mountains and colder climates which often brought them into conflict with Dwarves - leading to many nasty wars. It's believed that the Dwarven tendency to build deep mountain strongholds originated from their may clnflicts with the often war like Ogres. While Ogres tended to have a foul reputation with the lesser races, it was largely due to provocation and not nature. Due to their size, strength and often primitive technologies they made attractive, and easy targets for slavers and those who sought to exploit them. Ogres, by nature, are actually good natured, egalitarian and sociable - though firecely territorial and defensive of their kin.

Ogres are both very tall and heavy. Average height for an Ogre Male is 6'6, with a variation of 6 inches in either direction, and average weight is 350 lbs. Female Ogres are slightly taller than males though tend to weigh less. Their features are more animalistic than the other races, with a slightly raised lower face and flat noses simmilar to a faint snout. Their entire bodies are covered in a light white, brown, black or auburn fur, and have shaggy manes of hair that run down the back of their neck upper, mid back.

Dwarves: Mustelidae Progenitors (Wolverine)
Confident Race: When rolling ability scores, Dwarves may roll their Confidence score twice and take the higher roll.
+2 Confidence, +2 Strength.

Nelephim: Xeno Progenitors (Hybrid - Demon/Angel)
Insightful Race: When rolling ability scores, Nelephim may roll their Insight score twice and take the highest roll.
+2 Insight, +2 Conflidence.

Halfling: Ape Progenitors (Hybrid - Elf/Human)
Well Rounded Race: When rolling ability scores, Half-Elfs may reroll their lowest ability score and take the higher roll.
+2 to any two Abilities.
